New to Cambray Baptist Church?

We understand it can be daunting if you’ve never been to a church before. To make it easier, this page gives you some idea of where we are located, who is who in the church and what to expect when you first come for a Sunday morning service.

Come along…

When you come into the building, someone will greet you at the door and guide you to where you wish to sit. Please feel free to sit wherever you like. If you have children, they can either sit with you or join the other children in the front rows.

In the service

During most Sunday morning services the children aged 3-16 leave for their own fun-filled Bible groups part way through. These groups are, for children: Fireflies (3yrs-school year R), Sparklers (school years 1-3), Spotlight (school years 4-6), and for youth: Sunday Youth (school years 7-11). These activities are run by Godly helpers who are DBS-checked. We also have a crèche for the under 3s. All children and youth come back in towards the end of the service so we finish our Sunday worship together.

The service, which typically lasts 75-90mins, will normally consist of a time of sung praise and worship led by a band, Bible reading(s), some prayers and an in-depth Bible exposition. No offering or collection is taken, but we encourage our regulars to give regularly through their banks as part of our gifts to God; if you are a visitor please don’t feel embarrassed or obliged to give.

After the service

After the morning service, refreshments are served in the front courtyard (in good weather) or towards the entrance of the church (in poor or cold weather). It’s a great chance to catch up with others and to find out more about church life at Cambray.

Extra Information

Toilets can be found to the right hand side as you enter and also through the doors to the left of the stage (turn left and along the corridor), along with two disabled toilets.

The Church is fitted with a loop system for hearing aids, and we have installed purpose-built ramps for wheelchair access to the main Church and lift access  to the Rodney Hall.
