Lunch Club
Introduction
The lunch club was started nearly 50 years ago, to provide a nutritious meal and opportunities for fellowship to older people in the church i.e. focusing on those living on their own, widows, widowers, lonely single people (over 60) and older couples who are in need or have difficulty cooking for themselves.
“The food is great, but it is the fellowship together that means most to me” – a common comment made by members of the Tuesday Lunch Club. And one lady said “This meal is the highlight of my week”.
It is one practical expression of Christ’s injunction that we are to love one another, as it is an opportunity for encouragement and building up for those who are often struggling. Everyone who comes really appreciates the time spent together with the chance of fellowship around a good meal – all for the price of £3 a head!
When we meet
The Lunch Club meets every Tuesday, with a break for Christmas, Easter and the summer
The lunch is also attended, where possible, by one of the pastors, which then gives the opportunity for more informal chats with the pastoral team.
Conditions for membership (in order of priority);
- Widows, widowers, lonely single people (even if they do not meet the minimum age requirement)

- Numbers are limited to 36
