Helpful Information

At Cambray we want to provide Bible-centred, fun, safe, life-relevant and age-appropriate groups for each child and young person. This page links to resources which are helpful for parents and children/young people to get the most from our groups.

Getting Here

Each group has a regular starting and finishing place, which will be highlighted on the group’s flyer for that term. It will either be:

School Room

  • From Cambray Place

Enter through the side door of the church. This is accessed from the front of the church – drop off outside or within the front courtyard on Cambray Place, and take your child / young person down the side passage to the right of the church (through the blue wooden door, if it is closed). At the end of the side passage, to your left, is the glazed entrance door.

  • From Rodney Road

The entrance is in the gap between the rear of NatWest bank and the start of the edwardian houses towards the High Street end of Rodney Road. You will need to find some parking in the parking spaces on Rodney Road, and then take your child / young person into that short side-street and through the entrance to Cambray Baptist Church (you’ll see the sign above the gateway). Then turn right, and you’ll see the glazed entrance door ahead.

Once at the door, try to pull the door – it may be unlocked for the activity! If not, press the button on the entry system and wait for the ‘click’ of the door being unlocked from inside.

Once inside you should be greeted by a team member for your child’s group.

Rodney Hall

The entrance to the Rodney Hall is approximately 1/3 of the way down Rodney Road from High Street. The entrance has ‘Rodney Hall’ engraved on the Sandstone above the door, and a Cambray Baptist Church name board to the left hand side of the door.

You will need to find some parking in the parking spaces on Rodney Road, and then take your child / young person through the Rodney Hall entrance, Inside you will be greeted by a team member of your child’s group.

On Arrival

For each group we have a register of who is attending. If your child has not attended before, you will need to fill in a form to give your child’s details and parent/guardian contact details. If your child has attended before, they will be registered as attending.

Please arrive with sufficient time before the starting time of the group to allow for Registration.

After they have been registered, you can leave your child / young person with us.

Collecting

You will normally collect from the same place as drop-off, but check the programme to see what the arrangements are for each event.

Please arrive 5 minutes before the end of the activity, so there is no delay in collecting your children / young people. But do be aware that sometimes activities will overrun – thank you for your patience.

The doors will be opened when the activities have ended. Please do not wait in your car – come in and collect your child / young person. We need to know that each child has gone to those they know are here to pick them up.

Expectations

We have two useful guides – one for children, and one for young people, on how to get the best out of their time with the group and expectations for behaviour and how leaders will help give them a great time in the group and/or respond if there is inappropriate behaviour or engagement with the activities. We hope these will be a big help:
