Cambray FC world record attempt on longest football match - click for more detailsPlease click on image on the left for more details on the Cambray FC attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous football match ever using squads of only 18 players. (current records stands at 37 hours!)

Also (available until 6th March) click on the following link to listen to an interview by BBC Radio Gloucestershire on the BBC IPlayer.

There’s a bit of ‘Hambling humour’ to whet the appetite at 8 min 10 secs, and then the main interview is at 13.40 to 21.18.

Thanks to the guys who were kicking footballs in the background pretending to train!!! – nice work!

Cambray FC is a church based team representing Cambray Baptist Church in Cheltenham and was established in August 2002.

It plays in the Cotswold Churches League and Cup Competition. This is a Glos FA affiliated league currently consisting of 10 other Church-based teams from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Evesham.  Fixtures are played on Saturday mornings from September through to March.

Home matches are played at The Burrows, Leckhampton.

Cambray FC training is held every Wednesday evening at the Hardwick Campus Sports Hall. St Paul’s Road, Cheltenham, GL50 4BS between 6.30 – 8.00pm.  This is generally played on an indoor pitch where trainers are required – cost £3 (£2 for students).

There are social events (occasionally!) and an Annual Dinner and Awards evening held at the end of the season.

All the current fixtures, results, statistics and match reports can be found by clicking on ‘Cambray’ on the League table.  Why not add it to your Web favourites list now!

Further details can be obtained from either: Adrian Long (Club secretary), Steve Jones (Manager) or Andy Doel (Club Chairman) on the numbers below, or via Contact the Churches League

If you’d like to join in, or come along and support us, please just turn up or give one of us a call.  It would be great to see you!
